The Association of Writers & Writing Programs

Individual Membership

As a writer, you know how solitary the literary life can be. In pursuing a difficult and lonely art, you appreciate how encouraging and helpful it is to hear other writers discuss their own difficulties, strategies, and accomplishments. And if you teach writing, you also know how important it is to stay informed about the latest ideas and debates in contemporary literature and education.

A membership in AWP provides opportunities for publishing, services for finding jobs, and a lively exchange of ideas on writing and teaching. Wherever you live, work, and write, AWP can supply you with the tools and the company to help get the job done.

An individual membership in AWP for one year costs $65 or $110 for two years; however, currently enrolled students who enclose a photocopy of their valid student ID pay only $40. These rates apply to United States residents only; email services@awpwriter.org for international rates.
